An Anti-Fluctuation Compensator Design and Its Control Strategy for Wind Farm System

Large-scale wind farms in commercial operations have demonstrated growing influence on the stability of an electricity network and power quality thereof. Variations output large-scale cause voltage fluctuations corresponding electrical networks. To achieve low-voltage ride-through capability a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) during fault event, this study proposes real-time reactive control strategy for effective DFIG application static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) compensation. Mathematic models were developed STATCOM, followed by development indirect scheme STATCOM based decoupling dual-loop current control. Moreover, real-world case farm comprising 23 DFIGs was conducted. The regulation performance proposed against event also simulated. simulation results revealed that enhanced prompt recovery provided turbine could be achieved using along with three-phase short-circuit fault.
